What is your favorite thing about living in your city/what do you do there?
My favorite thing about living in Austin, Texas is the amazing art community here. Every weekend there is some kind of gallery opening or artists event/get together that is super fun and opens my eyes new artists and creatives here. The community is so welcoming and it’s always fun to see the connections between everyone, everyone is very supportive of one another! No one will ever dissuade you from doing what you love here.
If you were a color, what would you be?
Yellow!! It’s positive and happy, but also because it seems kind of unexpected. I love all the different shades of yellow too, and it looks good in all seasons (in my opinion)!! I have yet to find a shade of yellow I am not a fan of.
What is your signature dance move?
Signature dance move would definitely be framing the face because it’s easy to incorporate and you can do it while holding pizza.
Do you have pets?
I have a dog named Beso, which means “kiss” in Spanish. I got him from the shelter when I was 8 years old and he wouldn’t stop giving kisses! I don’t know what kind of breed he is, but he has quite the quirky personality and I have been known to make him pose for photos MAYBE a little bit too often.
My favorite food will always be Mexican food. My dad’s family is from Mexico so I grew up on it. Whenever I have the opportunity to splurge, I regret my decision every time if I don’t go for Mexican! Anything with avocado and cheese is hard to beat for me.
How lucky are you and why?
I forget how lucky I am most of the time, but when asked this question, I know that I am a pretty lucky human. I am studying Art and International Business at an amazing school and love my classes and teachers. I am an only child and have a very close relationship with two amazing people I get to call my parents!! Plus, art-related things keep popping up in my life from time to time in different ways, and that always makes me happy too. That is one of the reasons why I love getting the chance to be a part of this organization; it combines everything good- creativity, sharing love, and all around positivity.
